Rhode Island's biggest trial has ended with a guilty verdict. Esteban Carpio (pictured above in white plastic face mask) was found guilty of killing Providence Police detective James Allen, and convicted on the charge of "first degree murder of a police officer in the lawful performance of duty" in Providence last week. Carpio, who had attempted an insanity defense, is due to be sentenced this month.The Providence Journal has the story here.
